What did I do this week?

I spent most of the week finishing my in-betweens. There was a part I was struggling at which is the part where the orange Chonker’s runs across the screen. I did not plan out the timing properly therefore I had a lot of time after the movement which caused an empty screen. I also struggled with the scene afterwards as the original poses I drew for it was too static. I fixed both of these issues by firstly adding a small scene after the running where the orange Chonker’s holds the blue Chonker’s face up setting up for the next scene.

Then to fix the static poses I used an arc to create more movement in the scene and disobedience in the blue Chonker’s on letting the other touch them. In the end I removed the small scene as it was too short to be able to comprehend when watching it for the first time, so I decided to leave a blank space as it let the audience process who just ran across the stage. I kept in the arc as it made it easier to convey the distraught behavior of the blue Chonker.

After I got the greenlight from the tutor I started Line-art and due to my clean Key-poses and in-betweens it was a very simple process. It only took me a few days and after that I was ready to start colouring. After recapping on how to colour in Toon Boom I closed gaps using stroke and converted my lineart to colour layers so I can keep them seperate. This process was simple and quick as well as I was able to colour easily after taking the necessary steps beforehand.

What did I achieve by the end of this week?

Completed In-betweens, line-art and start colouring.

Overall critique on my work output this week

I was making more mistakes due to not taking breaks, as the timing being off and the static key-poses were done when I continuously continued working even when I knew I should have taken more breaks. I should take more breaks next time as it could prevent mistakes such as this.
